While platforms as recently as the PS3 and even the Switch are now running very well in emulators, the original Xbox has remained an eyesore. So it’s cool to see the xemu emulator making such solid progress.
xemu’s v0.5 was released recently, and this video shows some of the games it can run, from major releases such as Halo to not so big releases.
While the video above is promising there are also so many random / horrible games used for a reason: most of the console library remains unplayable in the emulator, hence this is a progress video for a v0.5 and not a triumphant full release .
If there is a multiplatform game of this generation that you would like to try again, you should probably try the PS2 version as emulation is so much more mature for that platform. But if you’re looking for an Xbox exclusive, stay tuned for further developments like this one!
