American Express is doing a fantastic job of adding temporary perks to its cards in the face of the coronavirus pandemic. In early January, we saw Amex adding perks to some of its cards and earning Membership Rewards points, such as a $ 30 monthly PayPal credit on The Platinum Card® from American Express (review).

Now, Amex has rolled out some phenomenal new benefits on its co-branded Delta, Hilton and Marriott cards, which are valid for the remainder of 2021.

Amex adds $ 5-20 dinner credit to personal cards monthly

Exclusive to 2021, American Express has added a new monthly dining credit to its co-branded personal cards issued in partnership with Delta, Hilton and Marriott:

How does this work?

  • You can receive a statement credit every month when you spend at least $ 5-20 (depending on the card) at restaurants in the US, whether that’s for dinner, takeout or delivery
  • This credit is valid once per calendar month, between February and December 2021, meaning you can use this benefit up to 11 times
  • To be eligible, you must have had your card before January 1, 2021 (so this is not valid for new cardholders)
  • You must register for this offer through Amex offers

Amex adds $ 5-20 wireless credit to business cards monthly

Exclusive to 2021, American Express has added a new monthly wireless credit to its co-branded business cards issued in partnership with Delta, Hilton and Marriott:

How does this work?

  • You can receive a statement credit each month if you spend at least $ 10-15 (depending on the card) on monthly wireless phone services purchased from US wireless service providers
  • This credit is valid once per calendar month, between February and December 2021, meaning you can use this benefit up to 11 times
  • To be eligible, you must have had your card before January 1, 2021 (so this is not valid for new cardholders)
  • You must register for this offer through Amex offers

My take on Amex’s new food and wireless credits

What can I really say, these new limited benefits are exceptional. American Express does the best job of any issuer in terms of adding temporary benefits in these uncertain times, and it makes keeping an Amex card an absolute no-brainer.

As you can see, the value of these offers range from $ 55 for a card with no annual fee to a massive $ 220 for Amex’s premium cards. Wow. I would say this is especially appealing to Amex’s premium cards as the annual cost is already quite easy for many to justify given the strong benefits. But I will certainly take an extra $ 220 in value on several of these cards.

For those of us with a lot of credit cards, maximizing all current bonuses and benefits is basically a part-time job.

Briefly

Select American Express cards from Delta, Hilton and Marriott now have $ 5-20 monthly credits for the remainder of 2021. What a phenomenal addition as it allows cardholders to get between $ 55 and $ 220 in value over the year .

American Express is in a class of its own when it comes to the limited time benefits added to cards. Thanks to all these benefits, I haven’t even considered canceling these Amex cards.

What do you think about Amex’s limited dining time and wireless credits?
