Guinness World Records (GWR), in collaboration with Ripley’s Believe it or Not! Released new measurements for the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS ™ record title for longest fingernails on one pair of hands (female) at 733.55 centimeters, held by Ayanna Williams.
After growing them for nearly three decades, the Texas native and record holder cut her iconic nails to start a new chapter in her life.
The World Record Authority teamed up with Ripley’s Believe It or Not! based on the last measurement of Ayanna’s nails prior to her cutting procedure in Fort Worth, TX, USA.
Her record-breaking nails have now been immortalized with the updated record title and new showing at Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Orlando Odditorium.
When asked about her nail show at Ripley’s, Ayanna explained, “It will feel like a wash of mine. Even if it’s just my nails, it will be great. Can’t wait to see that …! Guinness World Records and Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Dedicated to that. I love them more than anyone. And one thing, it’s history for my kids and my grandchildren. It’s very exciting! “
Ayanna, who felt mixed feelings about clipping her nails, first took the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS record title in 2017, when her nails totaled 576.4 inches on both hands.

Before the emotional procedure, Dr. Allison Readinger, a certified dermatologist, had her nails measured and found that they had grown significantly since the record title certification in 2017.
Ayanna’s nails reached an incredible length of 33 centimeters in her right hand and 15 centimeters in her left hand, bringing the total length of her nails to 8 centimeters. After the cut, Ayanna immediately expressed relief on her thumb and knuckles.
Ripley’s Believe it or Not! will preserve and display these nails, officially certified by Guinness World Records, to honor Ayanna’s incredible efforts and inspire generations to visit the exhibition from Friday, April 9.
She encourages the second-longest nail enthusiast to make history and pursue a record-breaking title. “Do what you want to do! Let everyone be themselves. If you want to grow your nails, do it!”, Ayanna adds.
