Woman who knocked out Hilaria Baldwin says fake accent ‘offensive’

The social media sleuth who sparked Hilaria Baldwin’s Spanish accent scandal said in a new interview that the popular yoga guru ‘must own what she did’ – calling her claims that she was born in Spain ‘insulting and wrong’.

The woman, who started a discussion on December 21 under @LeniBriscoe who questioned Baldwin’s claim that she was born in Mallorca, told the Daily Mail that she has little regrets about being behind the brouhaha.

“People asked me, don’t you have anything better to do, and the answer is, no, I don’t know,” she told the news broadcast on condition of anonymity. “It’s a pandemic, it’s cold outside and I don’t celebrate Christmas.”

Monday she said to her infamous Tweet: “You have to admire Hilaria Baldwin’s dedication to her ten-year carving of posing as a Spanish person.”

In the midst of the firestorm, Baldwin had to admit that despite speaking with a questionable accent and claiming she was born in Spain, she was really just a “white girl” from Boston.

The Twitter resident anonymously told The New York Times on Wednesday that she was afraid of going public because Hilaria’s husband Alec Baldwin might beat her up.

Briscoe – who attended elite Vassar College in upstate New York – convicted Hilaria for claiming she was born in Spain.

“It is insulting and wrong to pretend that you are an immigrant and that you speak English as a second language and that you are appropriating the factual experience that real immigrant women have. That’s not what happened, ”she told the Daily Mail.

She posted a message saying that people in the park think she’s the nanny because her kids are blonde and have blue eyes. That happens to mothers of color who actually have an accent, ”she said.

“That’s insulting, these are hard experiences that people really have and they faked. It is not really necessary. She could be a hot white influencer. A lot of people do that, ”added Briscoe.

She also said that she did not initially realize that Baldwin had read herself out for a Spaniard before people found articles in which she spoke about Spanish culture.

“That makes it worse for me,” she told the Daily Mail.

Briscoe also revealed that since her original post, she has been inundated with messages, some of which were not friendly.

‘Some people said I did it because I’m jealous and uglier. I don’t care if I’m uglier. Looks like a lot of work to be like her, ”she said to the outlet.

But she also said she “feels some responsibility” for the backlash against Baldwin on social media.

“In this case it was funny, but social media can be really cruel and harmful when there is a lot when someone does something that people don’t like. I don’t think that’s great, ”she said.

‘People said cruel and unnecessary things. That bothered me. There are so many things you could criticize Hillary Baldwin for, there’s no need to poke fun at how many kids she has, that was really offensive to me, ”she added.

“It reminded me of when people made fun of Melania Trump for modeling naked. Who cares? That doesn’t hurt anyone. She’s done other things you can poke fun at, ”Briscoe said.

“There are elements of misogyny that come up, but it’s important to call people when they are doing things that are harmful, which I think this was,” she said.

When asked what she would say to Baldwin, Briscoe said, “I would say she should say sorry to all the immigrants and English second language learners and mothers of color who are actually mistaken for their children’s nannies. She should own what she did. “
