Woman drugged and raped in Miami Beach had warned of dangers in Facebook post

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – Two visitors to Miami Beach spring break remain behind bars without bond after police said they drugged and raped a woman who was later found dead.

Dorian Taylor, 24, and Evoire Collier, 21, both from North Carolina, were seen on a surveillance video accompanying 24-year-old Christine Englehardt to the Albion Hotel on Thursday night and leaving 40 minutes later, authorities say.

Englehardt, a visit from Pennsylvania, was later found partially clothed and found dead in her room at the hotel.

Many are now responding to a Facebook post from Englehardt in 2019 warning of predators.

She wrote, “So if you ever feel unsafe or feel like something isn’t right … always deal with your gut. … This is unfortunately a dangerous world and you never know what someone’s true intentions are. “

Englehardt’s friend, Hailey Davis, laments a promising life that is cut short.

“She had all her life to do and she had dreams and goals and all these things she will never be able to do now because of those things,” Davis said.

Englehardt reportedly met Taylor and Collier at a restaurant, where investigators said they gave her a pill before returning to the hotel.

Authorities say the men had sex with her several times, including once when she was unconscious.

Police say on the video that Taylor and Collier then use the victim’s credit card to buy alcohol at a local liquor store.

When it turns out that the pill allegedly given to Englehardt caused her death, Taylor and Collier could be charged with manslaughter or murder.

“We will do everything we can to ensure that if there is a link between that situation and her death, we go ahead and support full prosecution of the law,” said Miami Beach Police Chief Rick Clements.
