Wolverine, X-Men and Sharon Carter Stories Explained

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier will almost certainly bond with X-Men characters, but it will also bring a lot of Captain America drama in the wake of Steve Rogers. A new trailer for The Falcon and The Winter Soldier has been dropped during the Super Bowl and this one has Sam-Bucky’s supremacy written over it from the jump – as if it literally starts with Sam and Bucky jumping being annoyed … come but on with the advice of the couple. During his all too close look at what’s coming in the next Disney + series from Marvel Studios, there are plenty of Easter eggs, characters, and comedic ties to take a closer look.

Get a full rundown with comedic images and shots from the trailer in the video above!

The entire opening scene of the trailer is a reference to Cap famously jumping out of a plane without a parachute, which we saw of him in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and I can’t help but feel like Bucky’s question, “What’s our plan?” is a reference to Iron Man who says, “I have a plan. Attack. ”Before jumping out of a Quinjet The AvengersBut again, Avengers love the theatrical.

The skyline we see is Madripoor, a location that Disney couldn’t use until they bought Fox and regained all X-Men movie rights. Madripoor is essentially a super corrupt city that literally exists on its own island in Southeast Asia. It protects its criminals from extradition and has strong ties to mutated characters, most notably Wolverine, who – in comics – fought in Madripoor during WWII – interestingly, he teamed up with Cap there. Will that make any difference? Could be. WandaVision seems to have a lot of X-Men kinks, but it could all be wishful thinking as we all want Kevin Feige to do his version of stories with mutants.

The villain is Baron Zemo, this time he gets his full purple mask. I first saw him put on that mask when the show was officially announced at San Diego Comic-Con in 2019, but I don’t think that made its way online – at least not legally. He’s back to try and rid the world of superheroes after failing to Civil war and he could end up in a Thunderbolts squad because he clearly leans in the over-current tactics of dividing people and with X-Men on the horizon, the Avengers all scattered, and whatever else is going on – he maybe trying to play drums and set up a small team of his own. If it gets us Red Hulk in the MCU, I’m for it.

It has been speculated that his purple mask in the MCU may have been inspired by Thanos, which is probably just a fun idea.

Zemo’s little minions are Flag-Smashers, they seem to be a nod to the Flag-Smasher character from Marvel Comics, also known as Mark Gruenwald. If they follow his comedic lead, the MCU Flag-Smashers will essentially be radicalized Captain America haters looking to create and fuel mayhem.

There is an interesting recording of a high-ranking military blues uniform, this could be Don Cheadle’s War Machine. Cheadle announced in a recent interview that he is on this show and his Rhodie is nicely decorated.

This may be a coincidence, but a huge poster of Steve Rogers is to the left of Sam, referring to, well … you know. Sam seems to mourn the shield given to him as if he had to give it up, which probably means hiding Steve’s choice to live in the alternate timeline and not just saying, “Well, he got old and gave it for me.” The MCU thinks Steve Rogers is dead, and he might be in after that opening sequence Spider-Man: Far From Home placed him in the same memorial video as Black Widow and Iron Man.

Sam throws the shield. Bucky catches it. They’ve both been Captain America in comics, so that will probably get some play with. Moments later, the tight shot of Falcon’s face as he flies appears to be the new equivalent of that Tony Stark shot in his helmet talking while flying.

Sharon Carter, who was last seen in Captain America: Civil War, is finally back and she’s a total villain and not only is she about to save Bucky and Sam, but I think she’s going to be a source of information. We saw on a t-shirt that she’s “WANTED” because she broke the Sokovia chords, so she’s probably spending some time in Madripoor, maybe moving there on the blip if she’s not snapping, learning the mean streets to know. Whatever Bucky and Sam are looking for, she probably has some answers.

US Agent trotting onto a soccer field at some big meeting. This man will pretty much become a government support as a new Captain America symbol, but his real name is John Walker and he’s been a hero, but he’s also been a bad guy and I can see that both Sam wants that shield from him and Baron Zemo. want to use it to stir up a kind of division.

At some point, Sam gets that shield because this picture of him with it is just amazing and I can’t wait for his entire Falcon-Captain America suit to be up. I don’t think he’s throwing the shield at this blast, I think Baron Zemo is behind that because he’s just hanging from the bottom of the frame, too cool to be a surprise to him.

A woman in the Flag-Smashers, probably a high-ranking member and recurring character, gets the best of Bucky, which could mean she’s an improved individual, and Bucky falls off the side of a truck and you just can’t help it, reminded of Bucky falling from a train and a mountain in it Captain America: The First AvengerConsidering how manipulated his brain has been, you have to wonder if this causes PTSD.

The trailer ends at a cute couple’s advice moment, where they stare at each other, as I stared at this trailer.
