The Board of Directors of the Puerto Rico Economic Development Bank (NDE) today, Saturday, ratified the appointment of the Governor of Puerto Rico, Pedro Pierluisi- of renowned manufacturer and financier Luis Alemañy, as president.
Alemañy has a diverse professional experience and it is the first time that a manufacturer has served as the executive chairman of the NDE. He has a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Puerto Rico with honors, a master’s degree in industrial management from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico and a degree in entrepreneurship and business from BabsonCollege. In addition, he has more than 20 years of experience in operations management, manufacturing, administration and financial affairs with companies such as American Tools, Toshiba, Baxter Healthcare, 3M Caribbean and Pepsi, where he worked as General Manager and Director of Finance and Operations. .
In 2019, the businessman became the president and founder of the company SJT Manufacturing, a company that focuses on the production and distribution of precision metal parts and exports to global multinationals.
Alemañy also serves as Director of the Board of Directors of the Puerto Rico Convention Center Authority District, where he is part of the decision-making and development projects to improve the Urban Bay, the Puerto Rico Coliseum and the District of Conventions.
The NDE’s nine-member Board of Directors is chaired by the Executive Director of the Financial Advisory and Tax Agency, Lcdo. Omar Marrero.
