Will Grand Theft Auto VI be announced in the Superbowl?

It’s been 7 years since GTA V was first released on PS3 and Xbox, and the game is also getting a next-gen port this year.

Due to the amount of time, fans have been looking forward to the announcement of GTA 6 for a long time, holding on to whatever information they can get their hands on.

Is the official announcement imminent?

GTA 6 to be announced at the SuperBowl?

The current rumor has it that GTA 6 will be announced at the upcoming SuperBowl on February 7th.

The game’s location is expected to be Vice City, which is located in Miami, Florida.

SuperBowl LV takes place in Tampa, Florida.

The halftime performance this year is The Weeknd, one of the greatest artists in the world right now.

He sparked his own GTA 6 rumors last year with his music video for Blinding Lights.

In the music video, the words “GTA 6 Trailer” were seen briefly, kind of random to include in a music video unless it was an early hint of future events.

When it comes to viewership, very few events surpass the SuperBowl.

Last year saw 99.9 million people tune in to the SuperBowl on TV, and millions more watched online.

This would put the GTA 6 announcement in front of 100 million + people, what company wouldn’t want that kind of exposure?

While it could be argued that Rockstar doesn’t need the exposure, GTA V sold over 130 million copies, so plenty of people are already waiting for the next game.

But if you’re going to announce the next entry in one of the greatest game entities of all time, the SuperBowl is definitely the biggest platform to do that.

Will it happen?

If I had to put money on it I would say no.

While I couldn’t win a one-man lottery, so don’t take any betting advice from me.

It would be incredible to see and blow up the internet with the hype it would generate, but I don’t see it happening.

However, I expect to see an official announcement this year with the game being released in 2023 or 2024.

Rockstar is also focused on other GTA content, including the next generation GTA V port.

GTA Online Heist
KING: GTA V is still as popular as ever after 7 years.

There are also rumors that the GTA Trilogy Remastered is in development, including GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas.

That would surely give players up until GTA 6 is finally released.

If anything, I could see Rockstar swerve people and make us believe there’s a GTA 6 announcement coming and then announce that instead.

But only time will tell, I think we’ll just have to wait until the SuperBowl to find out if these rumors are true.
