No. Drinking water does not affect the vaccine.

No vaccine is 100% effective. There is always a chance that a vaccinated person will become infected. The good news is that even if you are infected, the chances of developing serious illness are much less.

In addition, if everyone is vaccinated, the chance that anyone in the group will spread the virus is also lower.

The biggest wildcard is that we do not know exactly how long someone is protected after vaccination. Over time we will have a better understanding of the exact risk, but for now it is safest to keep wearing masks.

Practically speaking, it is fairly safe and you don’t have to worry about mask-less activities like eating once everyone is vaccinated.
