Wild Hunt reinvented as a PS1 game

Game developer Anders Lundbjörk shared a beautiful video imagining what The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt could have looked like it had been released for the original PlayStation in the 1990s rather than for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in 2015. More specifically, Lundbjörk has taken the infamous bathing scene to the next level for its imagined PlayStation release with a few selected changes. While the PS1 version of Geralt of Rivia appears to be as in Gwent as its PS4 counterpart, some of its dialogue seems more in tune with the ’90s.

If this sounds familiar, it could be because it’s not the first time the game developer has grabbed a CD Projekt Red title and imagined what it might look like on the original PlayStation. His version of Cyberpunk 2077 because the PS1 got a lot of traction late last year, and for good reason. While Lundbjörk’s creations aren’t exact, one-on-one replicas of the actual video games, they definitely convey the spirit – and in some cases wild glitches – that you’ll find in the real thing.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt itself is actually currently available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S versions are expected to be released this year. You can review all of our previous reporting about it The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt here.
