A woman is ‘extremely grateful’ to her TikTok followers after they warned hair Which a strange symbol outside her home meant she was targeted by a gang and said she believes they saved her life.
Jade Jules, 27, spotted ‘1F’ was written in the snow covering the lid of a black container in front of her house on January 12.
Confused, she posted a video about her TikTok channel (@bb.jade__) to ask her followers what it meant – just to be hoshocked when they told her it meant she was the target of a gang.
Hundreds of people TikTokers explained how the ‘1F’ character is often drawn by gang members outside the homes of single single women.
It presumably lets other gang members working in the area know that a woman is an easy target for crimes such as robberies, sex trafficking and rape.
Jade, a student at St John’s in Newfoundland, Canada, reported the symbol to the police, who confirmed what social media users suspected.
She felt ‘terrified’ and then fled to the safety of her mother’s house.
Jade said, “My followers have definitely saved my life.
“I wanted to take out the trash and then I saw it. I picked up my phone, picked it up and put TikTok because I had no idea what it meant.
“I thought people through TikTok would know and help me no matter what they did. I am very grateful to everyone who helped me.
a year ago“I was terrified. I thought someone was joking or something, but then all the comments and messages came in, so my mom came to get me. I packed some things and haven’t been home since.
“She’s actually going to move into that house with me, so we plan to go back this week.
“It has been bad scary, I haven’t been home since I was terrified. I have no idea who did it or why they did it, but I did everything I could.
“I called the police, wrote the letter and left home. I bought cameras for the House, I don’t know what else to do.
“The police couldn’t do anything because there were no suspects and I had no idea who or what it was, so they just swept the trash and told me to stay safe and if I could get out of there for a few days to do that. that is what I did.“
She added: “People in the comments of my videos say it means one woman. Apparently it is used for kidnapping, sex trafficking and burglaries. I’m not sure what it meant in my situation, but if that’s all true then I’m afraid of what could have happened.
“I’m so grateful to everyone who responded and messaged me telling me to be safe, careful and not post my whereabouts. My followers really saved me.”
