Anastasia Amoroso, Head of Thematic Strategy at JP Morgan Private Bank, joins the latest ‘What Goes Up’ podcast to discuss emerging investment themes, including the use of leverage in credit market investing. She also discusses the green energy outlook and other top issues that her team advises.

Some highlights of the conversation:

“The reason we’re having this discussion today is because this is actually a phenomenal year for fixed income, and yields have fallen sharply, which is not that phenomenal. But it has resulted in phenomenal returns for investors. But now that returns are really at these very, very low levels across the curves and across the credit spectrum, investors are looking for opportunities for returns. And one of the ways to increase the yield, of course, is to put in a little leverage … The reason we think this is an appropriate environment to do that is because from an economic point of view I think in a more stable place in 2021. So we don’t have to worry about credit events. “
