Who plays Whitney Houston in the Whitney Houston biopic

“I can’t imagine a better choice for this iconic role.”

According to Variety, Naomi Ackie is on the final hand to play Houston I want to dance with someone, which is slated for release in 2022 Thanksgiving.

The film is directed by Stella Meghie (The photo) with a script by Anthony McCarten (Bohemian Rhapsody).

Ackie recently played in Small ax and The end of the F ** king world, like Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

“We’ve spent most of the past year in an extensive search for an actress who could embody Whitney Houston,” Meghie said in a statement. “Naomi Ackie impressed us at every stage of the process. I was moved by her ability to capture the stage presence of a global icon while bringing humanity into its inner life.”

Music mogul Clive Davis, who is acting as producer on the film, also said that “Naomi Ackie’s screen test was so powerful it left my spine shivering.”
