Pastor Gabriel Alberto Ferrer Ruíz, who leads the group of parishioners, worked as a professor at the Universidad del Atlántico until last December, a position he resigned.

A few days ago, the residents of Isabel López warned the authorities about the three families arriving at the end of December and living in the house where they placed a sign counting down the days needed for “the second arrival of Christ”. .
Police authorities and the Colombian Family Welfare Institute (ICBF) were present at the site due to the possibility that the rights of minors who make up the three families have been violated.
In this regard, the Commander of the Atlantic Police, Colonel Hugo Molano, told the media that the police for children and adolescents had visited the site in response to the community’s complaint that the children were being subjected to fasting.

“What we found there were three families. They say no one is obligated, but the three families live there and it is the place where other people listen to them,” noted Colonel Molano.
After the inspection, the authorities felt that the religious community was not violating any norms and allowed them to stay together in compliance with the freedom of worship enshrined in the Colombian constitution.
Jorge Manotas, Mayor of Sabanalarga, the municipality of which Isabel López is a part, announced that they will closely monitor this religious community as there are concerns about the outcome of the situation. EFE
