CLEVELAND – Francisco Lindor once stood by his locker and made a list of his favorite top graders to watch. One of the first names he offered was Eddie Rosario.
The two grew about an hour apart in Puerto Rico, and for the past six years, they have regularly faced each other. Lindor was the heartbeat of the Indians. Rosario was the heartthrob of the Indians.
Three weeks after Cleveland shared Lindor with the Mets, they signed Rosario to a one-year $ 8 million deal, multiple sources told The Athletic.
Earlier Friday, the club officially reunited with second baseman César Hernández. A source said the contract is worth $ 5 million for 2021, with a $ 6 million club option for 2022.
