When will Bayern Munich play to decide whether to compete against Tigres?

The players of the Bayern Munich want to add a sixth trophy to their Grand Slam of five titles in 2020: the World Cup for clubs in Qatar, although they will have to see their premiere against the Egyptian club for that Al-Ahly, winner of the African Champions League.

If they win, the Germans will play the final on Thursday February 11 hour 12.00 from central Mexico to Tigres by Ricardo Ferretti, Mexican and Concacaf first team that reaches that authority afterwards eliminate with hierarchy the Brazilian Palmeiras.

“We are going to the Club World Cup with the very clear objective of bringing the trophy to Munich. Six trophies from the same season, so far only FC Barcelona have done it”, Bayern skipper Karl-Heinz Rummenigge launched enthusiastically.

One step away from the ‘Sextete’

Bayern won the 2020 Bundesliga and the Germany Cup, the Champions League and the Super Cups from Germany and Europe.

In 2013 the ‘Rekordmeister’ won five of the six trophiesincluding the World Cup for clubs, but did not take the German Supercup, which succumbed to its great rival at the time, Borussia Dortmund.

When there was talk of the World Cup being canceled due to the coronavirus a few months ago, Rummenigge, Hansi Flick and a delegation of team players counted they went to see him and ask him to talk to his friend Gianni Infantino, President of FIFA, to convince him the tournament was contested at all costs.

Rummenigge assures him that the gesture impressed him: “They won everything in 2020, they have a hellish agenda, but they want even more,” he explains.

Bayern is tired

An accident at Berlin airport on Friday added even more pressure. When it was due to take off at the end of the night to arrive in Doha around 7am the next day, the team’s plane was grounded in the German capital. They could only go out on Saturdays.

On a sporty level Bayern arrives tired, but its attacking potential (3 goals per game average this season) continues to make a difference: they have five consecutive Bundesliga wins.

“Our game is always analyzed by saying that Bayern not as dominant as last season. But we should not forget that last year was absolutely exceptional for us, ”Thomas Müller remarked recently.

Germany’s champions almost completely arrive in Qatar. Single Leon Goretzka Y Javi Martinez, who tested positive for the coronavirus, stayed in Munich.

Since 2013, the World Cup for clubs has always been won by the European representative and Bayern wants to further expand that dominance.
