When is Valheim coming to Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X | S?

If you pay quite a bit of attention to gaming news, you will have a hard time never hearing about it Valheim on this point. The new survival game launched in early February and has set the PC world on fire. However, if you’re someone who primarily plays on consoles, you might be wondering when Valheim maybe to your platform of choice. Unfortunately, it seems that you should not expect a release soon.

In a statement to GameSpot, developer Iron Gate AB said there are currently no plans to do this Valheim to consoles. That said, the studio left the door a little open stating that “everything is an option at this stage.” So while it is something that could happen in the future, Iron Gate doesn’t seem to be looking for console ports Valheim in the near future.

Still, this is not as bad as it seems. Many games that started out as PC exclusives in the past seem to hit consoles at some point. And while we cannot say definitively that the same will happen ValheimHistory tells us that there is a good chance that it will ever happen.

In the meantime, Iron Gate is probably a lot busier, just trying to make Valheim work well for the players who already have it. The early access title has already sold millions of copies on PC, which means that Iron Gate certainly has a much larger player base at its disposal than initially expected. As the company moves the game closer to the 1.0 iteration, their stance on console ports may start to change.

For now, Valheim in its current form is regularly updated. One of the game’s most recent updates actually made some bosses a bit more difficult. If you notice any future content drops related to Valheimyou can stay up to date by following our special coverage page here.
