After the controversy caused by the new privacy policy announced by WhatsApp, the company decided to explain to users what will happen to those who do not update the terms and conditions that take effect from May 15, 2021.
The messaging service indicated through its official blog that if you haven’t accepted the new policy by that date, you won’t be without your account, but you will lose some of its features.

“If you have not yet accepted, WhatsApp will not delete your account. However, it will not have the full functionality of WhatsApp until you accept it, ”explains the company that is part of Facebook.

That is, “for a short while” you can “receive calls and notifications, but not” you can “read or send messages from the application,” he says.
According to WhatsApp, after May 15, you can accept the updates to continue enjoying the application, and while you do, it will continue to apply the inactive user policy. According to Colombian media El Tiempo, this scheme is considering deleting the account after 120 days of inactivity.

2012, replacing the SMS service.
However, before the date set for the effective date of the new policy, it also gives you the option to “export your chat history on Android or iPhone and download a report from your account”.
But it makes it clear that if you decide to delete your account, your entire message history will be deleted, “it will delete it from all its WhatsApp groups” and even the backup copies will disappear.
