What you can do today with the new Executive Order

Today begins the 30 days of validity of the new Executive Order signed by Governor Pedro Pierluisi regarding COVID-19. The measures announced Tuesday relax some restrictions that were in effect in December.

Curfew

Pierluisi extended the time that citizens can move freely on the street. Starting today, curfew is in effect from 11 PM to 5 AM

Plus, there’s no lockdown or total shutdown on Sundays, so curfews are the same as on weekdays, and businesses can open according to the rules that apply on other days.

Beaches, Marinas and Spas

The bodies of water such as beaches, rivers, marinas, spas and others can be used by bathers during the established hours.

The consumption of alcoholic beverages is prohibited in all of these places and people will not be able to socialize with others who are not part of their family unit.

Groups must keep 3 meters between them.

Masks should be left on while the swimmers are out of the water.

The use of beach chairs, umbrellas and cool boxes is allowed.

On boats or boats used for recreational purposes, they should not be inhabited by people outside the family nucleus.

Stores

It will be able to operate at a capacity of 30% as long as they comply with the physical distance protocol and if they cannot meet it, the company will have to reduce its capacity.

Due to the changed curfew, companies can stay open every day until 10 PM.

Sports and leisure activities

These provisions have not been changed. All sports should be done outside of curfew and only by exercising individually, without physical contact.

Religious events

They will be given access seven days a week at the time agreed in the curfew and with a maximum occupancy of 30%.

Discos, bars and hammocks

Games halls, theaters, bars, discos, concert halls, recreation centers and the like remain closed 24 hours a day.

Government operations

They will continue to perform functions and provide services.

The other provisions were continued as set out in the previous Orders. This includes isolation orders from contact with a COVID positive person for 14 days or for a minimum of 10 days in confinement if infected.

The governor assured that he would review the data and statistics in the next two weeks to decide whether to amend this executive order or keep it in effect for the stipulated 30 days.
