The Hive Social app is apparently the newest, trendiest social media platform for Gen Z. Based on Hive’s Twitter account, it aims to be similar to Instagram, but without the annoying ads and picky algorithm. And many people who are tired of the social network monopoly of Facebook and Twitter are excited to join. But what exactly is Hive Social? We took a deeper dive.
While the app isn’t new (it was seemingly created or at least released in 2019), today people have flocked to Twitter to learn more about this new social media app, some of which are creating memes that make our collective attitudes so far. one more new social media app we need to sort out.
So, what is Hive Social?
Hive Social is committed to being a BS free social networking platform. In terms of design and experience, it is comparable to Instagram. It has a grid and a ‘feed’ where you can follow other users and also follow content based on your interests such as beauty, fashion, gaming, etc. You can also choose numbers for your profile (the first one is free, the others cost $ 0.99 per pop). And if you’ve downloaded Hive and are having trouble using it, you’re not alone. Apparently all new users went down their servers.

That’s right: according to Hive’s Twitter account, they gained more than 130,000 followers overnight. At the moment, it is unclear what caused this increase in users.

According to Life and style, Hive was created and run by a woman named Kassandra (@honeyxmua on Twitter). “HIVE really is a place where everyone is welcome, so we want to attract everyone from all communities – the everyday person to bloggers for travel, food, beauty, cars, etc., to small businesses and big brands. Whatever your interests – if they fall within our Community Guidelines which are designed to keep HIVE safe and respectful, you have a place with us, ”shared Kassandra.

She explained more about the app, saying, “HIVE is oriented [around] the user experience through a chronological order feed that maximizes content engagement … the ability to select multiple songs for a more personalized profile that will be played when users visit your page, like, comment on and repost content. “
According to an article on Hive op Her paper routeHive seems to be democratizing the social media experience so that anyone can make money from their account, and they are given a lot more freedom to do so. “With the Hive app, you can literally make money from your account the moment you sign up. This is the biggest news in the world of affiliate and influencer marketing right now.” You may post links in your caption and comment with URLs you wish to promote.

This is why many influencers are said to be really interested in Hive (we haven’t found any influencers using the app yet, but we’ll update this article as soon as we do). On Instagram, you must have a minimum of 10,000 followers to post a swipe-up in your Instagram story, and the only way to promote a link is to post it in your bio. Hive seems to solve that problem.

Currently, it appears that Hive is a one-woman team (or at least a very small team). According to Hive’s Twitter feed, the CEO (Kassandra) manages the account.

According to Kassandra herself, she plans to add live streaming soon. And for Android users, you will be able to download the app soon (now it is only available to Apple users).
