What customers need to know about Loves Furniture’s bankruptcy filing

WARREN, me. – Customers of Loves Furniture, the company that has taken over many closed Art Van Furniture locations, are concerned after the company filed for bankruptcy.

The furniture retailer seemed like a hero in 2020 when he moved in when Art Van was struggling financially, but now he has financial problems of his own, closing several Michigan branches that opened months ago.

It depends. If you’re a customer who has paid and haven’t received any furniture yet, you should immediately call your bank or credit card company.

The Better Business Bureau said the situation is problematic for those who received their furniture but may have a warranty. If you belong to that group, don’t expect that guarantee to mean much.

Loves Furniture blamed the COVID pandemic and the delay in shipments from abroad. While that may be true, the new revelations of major financial troubles won’t help the situation for many.

In the bankruptcy filing, Loves disclosed that it has between 100 and 200 creditors and owes $ 10 million to $ 50 million.
