“What a joy to celebrate this victory”: Abinader after congratulating the Águilas Cibaeñas on their triumph

President Luis Abinader congratulated the Aguilas Cibaeñas for proclaiming themselves undefeated winners of the Caribbean Series.

“I congratulate the @ AguilasCibaenas team on their big win in the # SerieDelCaribe2021. You have again raised our flag with the sport that unites us as Dominicans. What a joy to celebrate this victory! The head of state wrote on his Twitter account this morning.

The president, an Aguilucho with a ‘full mouth’, had confidence in the Dominican team since they left for Mazatlán, Mexico, in such a way that he said he had booked the 7th (just today) to receive the champions with their trophy.

“I am so sure that we are going to win, that the 7th is reserved to receive them in the National Palace with the championship cup,” said Abinader when he sent the players away.

Undefeated Eagles

The Aguilas Cibaeñas, the team that represented the country, defeated the Criollos de Caguas on Sunday at dawn (9Puerto Rico) 4-1 to become the champion of the Caribbean Baseball Series that was played in Mazatlán, Mexico.

The Eagles, who won their sixth title in this tournament, relied on the start of César Valdez and three relievers who limited the Criollos to four basehits, one run, four walks and nine strikeouts.
