Gympass, the world’s largest corporate wellness platform, conducted a study on the impact of healthy routines on employee productivity in nine countries. 71% of Spaniards believe that their work capacity improves when they incorporate physical and mental exercise into their daily life.

The survey was conducted with more than 9,000 employees from nine countries: Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Argentina, the United States, Spain, the United Kingdom, Germany and Italy. 70% of those surveyed believe that the wellness routine is a determining factor that positively affects performance at work.

More and more companies are getting involved with their employees and are influencing the need to implement corporate wellness programs as part of their business strategy. One of the factors that most affect speed and efficiency in the performance of work is the practice of physical and mental exercise to enhance employee motivation and productivity.

With regard to European data, the survey conducted by Gym pass stresses that Spain is the country with the highest percentage of people who argue that their work productivity improves to the extent that they incorporate wellness routines into daily life, with 71%, compared to Italians (59%), English (51%) and Germans (47 %).

On the other hand, 77% of those surveyed in the nine countries affirm that it is important to them that their company cares about their health and that they make corporate wellness plans available to them.

Germany and the United Kingdom top the list of countries in Europe that place greater importance on the pursuit of well-being, with 38%; followed by Italy (36%) and Spain (34%). This data shows that at a time when employees are feeling unmotivated and experiencing severe burnout, it is more important for companies to play a key role.

Some employees also assured that their companies have not contributed to their well-being since the start of the pandemic, with Italy being the country with the highest percentage of employees with this opinion (45%), followed by the United Kingdom (44%), Argentina ( 42%) and Spain (40%). These are alarming data showing that there is still a long way to go towards the cultural change in businesses that has occurred in recent years. Stress, lack of motivation or absenteeism remain factors that are present and must be combated in one way or another.

Federico de Vicente, CEO of Gympass Iberia, assures that “we live in turbulent times where it is more important than ever that companies provide their employees with the tools they need to improve their wellbeing at work. It is essential that companies invest in measures aimed at well-being And for them, with Gympass, we strengthen our commitment and offer our support through our wellness services to all those companies that want to have a corporate wellness program ”.
