Wayne’s World stars gush over Cardi B and her ‘shameless celebrity cameo’ in Uber Eats Super Bowl ad

Mike Myers and Dana Carvey meander through their memories when they step back into the shoes of their iconic Wayne’s World characters in a new Super Bowl commercial.

In a “ shameless celebrity cameo, ” Cardi B injects her infectious personality alongside Wayne and Garth as they aim to encourage viewers to eat locally in support of restaurants struggling during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The former Saturday Night Live stars are now opening up about their reunion as they gush over the Bodak Yellow rapper.

True to the famous SNL skit and two feature films, the one-minute ad opens with the theme song and is followed by the duo’s instruction to eat locally.

“As a local access show, we want everyone to support local restaurants, but we’ll never manipulate you like all those other commercials do,” they announce.

The ad then goes on to manipulate ‘local food’ by including windy glamor photos and the hosts holding mini me babies while declaring ‘never shamelessly relying on a celebrity cameo’ as Cardi makes her appearance .

“Yes, eat locally,” she says in typical Cardi stance and intonation, before the trio nods to the very popular TikTok outfit-change jump cut and switch wardrobes with each other.

Wayne and Garth eventually get dressed in Cardi’s forest green feathered robe and she reappears in Myers’ outfit before trying it a few more times.

New York native The Bronx also wears Garth’s signature blonde wig and flannel shirt combination as she drops the robot onto the screen. They all then resume their places in the famous basement of their public TV show.

“Wayne’s World, local food, good time, excellent,” they jointly exclaim for the final jam session, in an Uber Eats twist on the theme song.

Cardi promoted the commercial on her Instagram Wednesday while joking, ‘WAG’s latest special guest (Wayne and Garth) ?! ME!’

Building on the decision to partner with the SNL alumni and Uber Eats, the hitmaker told People, “ You all know I love to eat, and right now we need to support our local restaurants, like The Griddle Cafe in LA. spots are currently struggling, and it’s up to us to EAT LOCAL! That’s why I teamed up with Uber Eats and my boys Wayne and Garth to help. ‘

The online delivery platform has allocated $ 20 million to help small businesses amid the countless restaurants across the country that have been forced to close their doors or lay off countless employees since March 2020.

A 30 second commercial during Super Bowl LV was initially offered for $ 5.6 million, which was about the same as last year’s cost.
