While Tesla is often recognized as one of the carmakers at the forefront of electric sedan manufacturing, plenty of challengers have emerged to take on a challengescary. Today we’re going to take a look at how a Ford Mustang Mach-E rates compared to the Tesla Model Y.
This 25 minute video comes out The Fast Lane Car on Youtube. In it, father and son duo Roman and Tommy separate the pros and cons of both cars to arrive at a winner.
One of the first issues the two men face is Ford’s unfortunate naming scheme. The Mach-E is none Mustang, not the way we understand a Mustang culturally. I notice because one of my pets gets too much into the name of a car and not the actual performance, but in this case I kind of get it. Ford cemented the name, and now the Mach-E will be forever compared to an ICE Mustang, which doesn’t help the car.
Anyway, on the video:
I’ll show you how they came to the conclusion, but both cars are pretty damn good – it just depends on how you want to use them. For example, the Tesla Model Y is considered the better electric vehicle, while the Mach-E is said to be a better all-round car.

The main impression I get is that Ford is catching up, which doesn’t really surprise me. While the brand has much more long-standing experience in the car manufacturing world, it has not focused solely on electric cars, which defines Tesla’s whole purpose.
But if you are wondering how these two machines compare, look no further. You get a step-by-step breakdown of everything from storage to technology to efficiency to help you decide which one you prefer.
