Washington waives Thaddeus Moss, 4 others

Washington’s Thaddeus Moss UDFA signing generated interest due to the team’s need for the tight finishing position at the time and the appeal of the brand and the LSU alum carried. But Moss didn’t play last season and handed it out to IR. It is now on the waiver.

Washington dropped the second-generation Prof. In addition to the Moss cut, Washington cut the defensive lineman on Friday Caleb BrantleyThe former ‘late round’ pick dropped out of the 2020 season.

Hall of Famer’s son Randy Moss, Thaddeus was part of LSU’s historically explosive crime in 2019. He joined Justin Jefferson Yes’Marr Chase Clyde Edwards-Helaire ad Terrace Marshall Jr. as a leading Tigers pass-catcher that season, bringing in 47 passes for 570 yards and four touchdowns. Two of them entered the national championship game.

After doctors discovered a break in Moss’s foot at the Combine, he missed extensive training camp time. Washington waived him with an injury designation prior to last season. He was on Washington’s IR list for the season. Although Washington was light on the tight finishing position last season, ex-quarterback Logan Thomas broke through and fulfilled that need.

The Browns penned Brantley in the sixth round of 2017, but the former Florida Gator hasn’t seen much action as a pro. After shooting two sacks in 12 games as a rookie, Brantley played in just eight in the last three years. Washington also waived a wide receiver Emanuel Hall and running backs Javon Leake and Michael Warren on Friday.
