San Francisco, New York and Indianapolis are getting excited … Warren Moon tells TMZ Sports he believes the 49ers, Jets and Colts are the front runners to land Deshaun Watson!!!
The Texan QB officially wants to leave Houston … according to multiple reports, the 25-year-old is done with the team after arguing with execs and demanding a trade.
It’s unclear whether the Texans will do that please specify in the request – given, you know, the QB is great – but when they do, Moon says he believes the Jets, Colts and 49ers are the most likely trading partners.
As for why, Moon says with the Niners, Watson could be a big upgrade as the team moves on Jimmy Garoppolo.
With the Colts – says Moon to replace Philip Rivers with Watson is a no-brainer … although he wonders if the Texans would be open to trading between divisions.
As for the Jets, Moon tells us Watson would be a great fit there … given the New York media market and the promise of new head coach Robert Saleh.

Moon says he is hopeful that once a transaction is completed Houston will learn from this and realize that if it gets another star QB, it should build around him and make him the center of the team right away.
“Hopefully the organization will get a hint here that we need to do better in the future,” says Moon. “We need to find a new top-tier quarterback and build a team around that guy so we don’t lose him next time.”
“So hopefully it’s a lesson the organization has learned as they move forward.”
