Wanda’s new Scarlet Witch costume could explain Quicksilver’s crossover

Wanda and Vision have just gone herself for Halloween. But are these Silver Age comic book costumes more than just fun fan references? Could actually be Wanda’s retro look mean something much deeper? Let’s talk about Wanda’s awesome costume and what it could mean for the remaining few episodes of WandaVision on Disney +. Episode 6 spoilers ahead!

In WandaVision Episode 6, “All-New Halloween Spijntakular!” a moment haunted since the first trailers finally arrived: Wanda is rocking her old-school Scarlet Witch costume from Silver Age of the Marvel comic book universe. This will undoubtedly make many comic book fans happy, but in the context of the story of WandaVision what does it mean?

The easy answer is nothing. This is just a Marvel Eater egg and a nod to it WandaVision have fun with old fashioned comic book stuff. Recently, at one point, Elizabeth Olsen seemed to suggest that the Scarlet Witch costume almost didn’t happen until she insisted.

But what if not? whole true? So far, the cast and crew of WandaVision has been quite good at hiding important developments, including the return of Wanda’s brother Pietro for the Others Marvel movies, the X-MenAnd because Quicksilver / Pietro has its first full regular appearance in this episode of WandaVision, you really have to ask yourself: is the costume a signal that more X-Men are coming?

We still don’t really know how Wanda got the power to create the massive reality-altering “Westview” disruption. In two episodes now, even she admits that she’s not sure how this started. She also doesn’t seem to have any control over Pietro or her ‘children’. Towards the end of this episode, Pietro says he came to Westview because he heard Wanda ‘calling out’.

If Wanda has broken some dimensional barriers (in an accident?), Then it makes sense that she has somehow gathered a ton of information from various alternate realities. Pietro comes from the X-Men ‘universe’, but maybe also her knowledge of her Scarlet Witch costume.

In episode 5, at a big SWORD gathering, Jimmy Woo makes it very clear that Wanda does not have a cool superhero name in “our” universe. This means that she is not called “Scarlet Witch” in the MCU, which further means she should not have to knows about her costume. But she clearly knows. And know that she’s dressed up as Scarlet Witch, and her mutated brother is back from the dead, you really have to wonder if her mutated father … Magneto isn’t far behind.

If WandaVision Resulting in a family reunion between Wanda and her comic book father, Magneto, the next question is, are we going to watch Michael Fassbender? Ian McKellen? Or someone new?

WandaVision has three more episodes. This is when every episode will hit Disney +.
