Wan’Dale Robinson will move to Kentucky

Wan’Dale Robinson (finally) becomes a Kentucky Wildcat.

Shortly after entering the transfer portal, the Frankfort resident announced that he would be bringing his talents to his Old Kentucky Home.

Just over two years ago, Robinson was determined to play for Mark Stoops in Kentucky. The Mr. Western Hills High School football changed two weeks before the day’s signing, opting to play for Scott Frost in Nebraska instead. He took a small detour, but Wan’Dale eventually made his way to the UK thanks to some help from Stoops and Vince Marrow.

Robinson immediately matched the billing of an All-American, setting Nebraska records for receptions and receiving yards by a freshman in 2019. He followed that up by leading the Huskers to receive in 2020. In 20 college football games, Robinson just grabbed not 2,000 meters from scrimmage and was a two-time finalist for the Paul Hornung Award, which is presented every year to the most versatile college footballer in the country.

A star in high school, in his last football season, he scored 45 touchdowns in 11 games. Whether on run, wide receiver, returner or defensive, Robinson could turn any game into a touchdown. Now the BBN will see him play at Kroger Field while potentially catching passes from a former district foe, former Lexington Catholic quarterback Beau Allen.

Robinson delivers an instant explosive shock to Kentucky offense after several seasons of aerial combat. A slot receiver that can make people miss, Liam Coen’s attack will attack Robinson early and often. There’s no quantifying how much adding the big-play maker to the offense will help the new play-caller and new quarterback in 2021.

We’ll have a lot more on what Robinson’s return to Kentucky means for the Wildcats until the ball gets kicked off this fall. Before the hype train disappears completely, enjoy Robinson’s best work on the football field.
