Walmart shooting in Glenolden, Delaware County in connection with Darby standoff: police

DARBY, Pennsylvania (WPVI) – A Walmart shooting led to a deadlock in Darby, Delaware County on Sunday afternoon, Action News has learned.

At around 8:30 am, police say the male suspect fired a shot at a Walmart on MacDade Boulevard in Glenolden.

Police confirm that the suspect fired a shot at an employee, but missed. The incident may have been about a video game. Nobody was hurt.

On Sunday afternoon, SWAT and several dozen officers swarmed a house on the 400 block of Main Street in Darby Borough where the suspect allegedly lives. Police used the suspect’s phone to trace him to the location in Darby, investigators said.

The Action Cam showed officers aiming their guns at a building and multiple law enforcement officers covering the streets on foot.

For hours, officers tried to get the suspect out of the house, but police now believe the suspect fled before they got there.

Local residents were allowed to return to their homes around 4 p.m.

Police say the suspect could be armed and dangerous. He is not identified at this time.
