Walmart Inc. WMT,
said Monday it has partnered with FedEx Corp. FDX,
on a new returns process for the holidays and beyond. Carrier Pickup by FedEx allows customers to initiate a return online or in the Walmart app, which can then be picked up from the customer’s home at a scheduled time. Customers can also complete the return at a FedEx office location. The program applies to items purchased and shipped through Walmart’s e-commerce site. Walmart also now allows customers to initiate a return online and complete it at a Walmart store, regardless of whether the item was purchased online, at a physical location, or from a third-party seller. Refunds are now credited the same day if the return is completed in-store and as soon as the next day for those processed elsewhere. Walmart stocks are up 20.7% in the past year, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA,
is up 4.8% for the period.
