The Royals and Davis agreed on a minor league contract on Wednesday, and the 35-year-old righthanded man will go to spring practice to earn a spot in the Major League-squad.

Davis is a three-time All-Star who had 47 saves for the Royals between 2013 and 2016. Kansas City took him over from Tampa Bay in December 2012, converted him to full-time reliever in 2013, and then moved to the Chicago Cubs. the 2016 season.
