Voting for 2021 does not yield any participants

The 2021 class of the Baseball Hall of Fame will be empty.

Zero candidates passed the 75% threshold of the BBWAA vote. Curt Schilling (71.1), Barry Bonds (60.7) and Roger Clemens (61.6) were particularly short.

All three have one more year to qualify for the vote before their Hall of Fame fate goes to the Veterans Committee.

This is the ninth time that zero participants have been voted into the Hall of Fame. The 2013, 1996, 1971, 1965, 1960, 1958, 1950 and 1945 classes were also empty.

However, Cooperstown will still have a party. After the 2020 ceremony was canceled due to concerns about COVID-19, Derek Jeter, Larry Walker, Ted Simmons and Marvin Miller will finally be sentenced.
