Dos ppeople died and eight others were injured in two on Friday night shootings apparently related to each other in Virginia Beach (Virginia, EE.UU.), at a time when the debate over the gun control in the United States
Police in that coastal town in southeast Virginia were patrolling the boardwalk at the stroke of midnight when they heard “multiple gunshots” and found several injured, officers said in a statement early Saturday morning.
Eight people were hospitalized with gunshot wounds, in some cases serious, while a police officer was hit by a vehicle and taken to hospital with “minor injuries”, police said.

One adult woman died on the spot as a result of a shot, while the other mortal victim was recorded in a second shooting “related” to the previous one, according to the official statement.
It is about an adult man who was shot dead by a police officer, who was temporarily expelled from his post as a result of the event while the incident is under investigation.
“It was a very chaotic night on the beach, with several crime scenes,” Virginia Beach Police Chief Paul Neudigate told a news conference.
Authorities have not clarified whether the man killed by the officer was the author of the shooting that left one dead and eight injured and they confirmed that they have no information about a possible suspect in that first case and that they are investigating continued him, for which they asked for cooperation with the citizen.

The event took place just as the gun control debate in the United States was reopened, following Monday’s shootings in a boulder supermarket (Colorado), where ten people died, and on March 16 in different rooms from Asian massage in Atlanta (Georgia), killing eight.
However, efforts by President Joe Biden and his party to reform gun control laws are unlikely to succeed in the US Senate, where the Republican minority has enough votes to prevent such a change.
