As he explained, a blue car had left them there and then fled the place at full speed. Although both the minor and the dog tried to chase the car, they could not reach it.
Upon arrival at the police station, the police officers asked him for his name and the little boy said his name was Tony. As for his parents, he only replied that his mother was called Katy and his father was David. Then he was taken to a temporary home.
Hours later, David Centner, police chief of the agency, published a photo of the boy with the aim of getting more information from him or his family. He also said that those who wanted to send him Christmas gifts could do so without any problems.
The picture went viral and within hours Hinckley police were ‘inundated’ with clothes and gifts for the boy.
“I want to thank everyone for their kindness in purchasing Tony’s Christmas gifts and their offers to receive and adopt him.”the institution said in a statement via Facebook. “They are all wonderful people and we have a wonderful community here in Hinckley, all over Medina County and beyond.”.
It was learned that the officers were able to locate Tony’s father, who “cooperated” with the investigations by ensuring that Tony was under the mother’s custody when he was abandoned; however, no charges have yet been filed against anyone as the investigation is ongoing.
