If you’ve been following the NFL recently, you’ve probably noticed the pretty big trade between the Rams and the Lions.
Certain reports and rumblings have suggested Minnesota might be interested in doing the same, but Viking fans should take the ones with a grain of salt.
Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network went on the Pat McAfee show and said something contrary to those recent rumors (H / T Skor North). When asked about Cousins playing on the 49ers next season, Rapoport said, “I don’t feel that at all.”
“I would never say anything is impossible,” said Rapoport. “As you know, this NFL world has taught us that anyone can be traded. I would be really surprised about that for a number of reasons. First off, I’m not sure that will benefit the Vikings. And I don’t know if Cousins is an upgrade from Jimmy G. If they’re both healthy and they’re both playing, are we sure Cousins is such a big upgrade for what it’s going to cost? “
Cousins have just finished his third season with the Vikings. It started out rocky, but gradually helped the attack get a high octane. He still garnered a lot of scorn from Vikings fans, but with the way his contract is structured, it looks like the team will be stuck with him for the foreseeable future.
