Videos posted to social media showed the moment George Floyd’s family learned that a Minnesota jury had convicted former police officer Derek Chauvin on all charges of Floyd’s murder.
Floyd’s family can be seen in a video in which the legal team represented them as they watched Judge Peter Cahill read the verdict. The family jumped up and rushed to television when Chauvin was convicted.

As Cahill read the jury’s verdict, another group of Floyd’s relatives can be seen in a video waiting with heads bowed. As each of the three statements was read, family members cried out for joy.
Once the final verdict was read, they could no longer contain their elation, with a young woman shouting, “Yes! This is what we wanted!”

Ben Crump, the attorney who represents Floyd’s family, shared a video on Twitter from President BidenJoe Biden Obama, Clinton reflects on Mondale’s legacy Biden, Harris praises Mondale for paving the way for female VP Mondale in latest message to staff: ‘Joe in the White House certainly helps’ MORE and Vice President Harris called them shortly after the verdict.
When a member asks how Biden is doing, the president replies, “I feel better now. Nothing will make it all better, but at least now there is some justice.”
“You have been incredible. You are an incredible family,” added Biden.
‘I am so grateful to the whole family. Your courage, your dedication, your strength ‘, Harris says during the telephone conversation. “This is a day of justice in America.”

After the verdict was read, Chauvin was returned to custody and bail was revoked. He was led out of the courtroom in handcuffs.
