Video: ‘Saturday Night Live’ spoof Gina Carano after firing ‘Mandalorian’

What does Gina Carano have in common with Britney Spears, Texas Senator Ted Cruz, and New York Governor Andrew Cuomo? They were all forged on the most recent edition of Saturday Night Live

Carano was fired from her role The Mandalorian earlier this month after a slew of controversial social media posts. The post that ended up being the last nail in the proverbial coffin compared the plight of conservatives in America to the Jews who were massacred during the Holocaust in Nazi Germany.

So in classic SNL fashion they had to expose the controversy.

The cold open for Saturday’s edition featured a talk show hosted by Spears – played by Chloe Fineman – called Oops, you did it again where celebrities and influential figures apologize for questionable and widely chastised behavior.

The former MMA fighter and pioneer was played by Cecily Strong, and the character explained that she wasn’t on the fictional show to apologize.

“I never would have made that Nazi comparison if I had known everyone was going to be that Nazi about it,” said Strong in character as Carano in the parody.

The outstanding film also featured Aidy Bryant who played Cruz after the Texas senator vacationed in Cancun amidst the state’s power crisis due to a rare winter storm, while Pete Davidson took on the role of Governor Cuomo, who is under investigation how his administration was handled. nursing homes during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic.
