Puerto Rico Senate Vice President Marially González Huertas said today, Sunday, that she is pleased after Governor Pedro Pierluisi declared a state of emergency for gender violence.
“The Executive Order to Declare a State of Emergency for Gender Violence in Puerto Rico is an advanced and plausible step in the fight to end femicides. The Senate will continuously measure its effectiveness as we monitor the use of public funds in the development of your tools Congratulations! ”said González Huertas in written statements.
Pierluisi today issued an Executive Order declaring a state of emergency for gender violence.
In addition, the decree establishes a Committee for the Prevention, Support, Rescue and Education of Gender Violence (PARE).
The decision is effective until June 30, 2022.
