The Faculty of Natural Resources and Veterinary Medicine of Santo Tomás University has 30 years of teaching career experience in the country with academics with vast professional experience. During all this time, professionals have been trained with the necessary skills to provide for the needs and care involved in the close relationship between humans and animals, and especially in the Los Lagos region.
For this reason, this branch of medicine covers multiple areas of prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases, conditions and injuries in animals and extends across all species, both domestic and wild.
In this context, those studying this career at UST Puerto Montt headquarters have the opportunity to learn in a hands-on manner in the facilities of the Clínica Menor, which stands out for having classrooms, a clinical pathology lab, a care box, surgery, procedure room, sterilization and hospitalization. And in the main clinic and practice center, they have a space with a veterinary pharmacy, a research and teaching laboratory, an anatomy laboratory, 2 hospital boxes, a belt for procedures in older animals, a cover for handling livestock and animal pens.

Through this professional path, UST offers the “International Experience” program, which has partnership agreements that provide the opportunity to conduct exchange programs in academic institutions such as the University of Santiago de Compostela and the CEU University of Valencia, Spain.
