Vegas clubs have been banned for violating COVID-19 guidelines prior to the Super Bowl

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) – Businesses in the Las Vegas area were visited by Clark County licensing agents prior to Super Bowl Sunday and three were reportedly violations.

Larry Flynt’s Hustler Club, Spearmint Rhino and Minks Las Vegas all received a 36-hour emergency shutdown for violations of Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak’s COVID-19 guidelines during a routine inspection.

“We have misunderstood a number of guidelines and have taken corrective action to address them,” said Ralph James, general manager of Larry Flynt’s Hustler Club.

James says that since strip clubs and other sex industry-related businesses are expressly prohibited from opening, they operate as a different kind of business.

“There really are no guidelines for clubs, at this point we have heard of them, they are mainly guidelines for bars and restaurants, so we followed the guidelines of the bar and inn regarding safety protocols,” added James.

The club says it takes the safety of their customers, staff and entertainers very seriously and is doubling down on security measures after the inspection-related shutdown.

“The big change is that the entertainers will now be wearing tops,” said James.
