The young Valentina Arbeláez, former presenter of Citytv and Canal RCN, died on Thursday after battling severe hydrocephalus diagnosed in 2014.

As her health deteriorated, her family decided to take her to a clinic in Bogotá, where she died days later.

On September 3, 2014, she suffered a stroke that left her in intensive care for several days and seriously affected her motor functions, preventing her from continuing her career as a presenter.

María Eugenia Ramírez, the young woman’s mother, assured herself in the Lo Sé Todo program that health care facilities were not providing enough care for her daughter. “A nurse and a physical therapist broke his left knee during one of the therapies,” his mother explained to the aforementioned medium.

The mother also noted that the EPS and IPS did not send the necessary supplies to Arbelaéz and were constantly changing from medical personnel to care for her: “They send what they want, when they want. It’s very simple for them, ”said Ramírez.

Valentina’s Facebook account, managed by her family members, launched several fundraising initiatives and managed to gain the support of celebrities such as comedian Gerly Hassam Gómez, otherwise known as Hassam.
