The National Cancer Institute confirmed to EL TIEMPO that next Wednesday at 7am, Rocío Pérez, the chief nurse who treats covid-19 patients in that entity, will receive the first vaccine against covid-19 in the country.

This hospital center was one of the centers prioritized by the Bogotá Mayor’s Office among the first seven in the capital where health workers will be immunized with Pfizer vaccines. That entity has registered 1,323 professionals and employees who are facing the covid-19 on the front line.

Lina Trujillo, deputy director of medical care and education at the National Cancer Institute, explained that the first vaccine at that assistance center will be given the vaccine very early Wednesday, and immunization will begin at 7am with the dose that Sister Pérez will take. to get. receive.

The second dose should be applied within 28 days, with a new shipment, Trujillo explained.

Those responsible for administering the vaccine will be officials from the Central Eastern Network of the Ministry of Health. Specifically, eight groups of vaccinators will carry out the process at this location.

It’s worth remembering that 12,562 of the first 50,000 doses landed in Colombia this Monday will be distributed over two days at seven hospitals in Bogotá.

Also that during the first phase of the National Vaccination Plan, it is expected to immunize around 350,000 primary care health workers. When this group is ready, about 1.2 million people over the age of 80 will start vaccinating.
