Vaccinations in Texas: 8-year-old boy accidentally administered the COVID vaccine in Dallas County

TEXAS – Texas fire officials admit that an 8-year-old boy was recently accidentally vaccinated.

The colossal error occurred at a COVID-19 vaccine site in Grand Prairie.

Dallas County requires people to register online before receiving the vaccine – and the date of birth is required on the registration form.

In a statement, a Dallas County judge wrote that human error from a third party overseeing the county’s vaccination registry list was the main cause of the error.

Jenkins said the county’s information technology department is working with that outside company to make sure it doesn’t happen again.

As of March 29, Texans ages 16 and older were eligible for the vaccine in Texas.

However, it has not yet been approved for anyone younger than that age.
