Michael Cohen, who was responsible for the personal arrangements of United States President Donald Trump for ten years, announced last night that he will testify against the president and his family in connection with unspecified “misconduct.”

“I have been asked and agreed to work with various government agencies to give testimony to the misconduct of Trump and his family,” Cohen said via his Twitter account.

“I am doing this largely because Trump and his family have tried, and thankfully failed, to destroy the democracy of the United States,” added Cohen in connection with the attack on the Capitol by supporters of the president last Wednesday. who has accused the democratic opposition of encouraging the uprising.

The 53-year-old disabled attorney was sentenced to three years in New York State in 2018 after being found guilty of several crimes, including perjury before Congress and violating campaign finance laws.

The latter involved “secret money” payments to adult film star Stormy Daniels made by Cohen himself on behalf of Trump, the lawyer said.

Cohen worked for Trump for over a decade and was often described as Trump’s “plumber” until a rift developed between them. The attorney eventually made serious charges against him in court and in Congress.

In May last year, he was released from federal prison for home confinement, then returned to prison, and released two weeks later. He is expected to serve the remainder of his sentence under house arrest.
