WASHINGTON (Reuters) – US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi told lawmakers late Sunday that they would vote on a resolution first this week calling on Vice President Mike Pence and the cabinet to remove President Donald Trump from office before impeaching.

The House will vote Monday or Tuesday on a resolution calling on Pence to invoke the 25th amendment to the U.S. Constitution, allowing him and the cabinet to remove the president if he is unable to perform his official duties. Pelosi said in a letter. . Pelosi added that the House will “continue to introduce impeachment laws after that.” Through Sunday night, 210 House members co-sponsored the impeachment measure, or nearly a majority of the House.
