PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Health experts are constantly pushing for eligible people so they can be vaccinated against COVID-19. And now, here in Pittsburgh, there’s a new tool you can use when it’s your turn.
UPMC has created a website where you can register for the COVID-19 vaccine if you are under Pennsylvania Phase 1-A guidelines.

Keep in mind that registering doesn’t mean getting the vaccine right away, but you will be placed on a waiting list and UPMC will contact you to schedule an appointment when a vaccine becomes available.
You do not Must be a UPMC insured member to be placed on the waiting list and receive a vaccine through UPMC.
UPMC reiterates that state and federal supplies of vaccines are still limited, and encourages the public to be patient.
Meanwhile, UPMC insists it wants to vaccinate as many people as possible once the health system gets more doses.

White House press officer Jen Psaki addressed the nation Sunday morning about the limited supply of vaccines.
We expect to catch up quickly this week, fill that backlog, make sure they get to communities and also meet our deadlines and our timelines of the doses to be released this week, ”said Psaki.

An operator will register you over the phone and then you will be contacted to schedule an appointment when the recording is available.
UPMC expects a lot of people to call, so if you can register online, they emphasize that you do it that way.
