Fearful neighbors, seeing the old man on fire, warned Cruz Verde authorities that he would be treated immediately.

Grandpa woke up with his leg burned and couldn’t move.

The victim, identified as Jesús Velasquez Benavides, suffered third-degree burns to his leg, back, arms and fingers, according to a paramedic.

Lifeguards from Cruz Verde came to the scene to put out the fire and help the grandfather.

Because of the burns he sustained, the homeless man was bandaged on the spot and then taken to hospital by rescue workers.

Authorities said they had no clues as to who allegedly committed the attack.

However, initial investigations indicate that environmental balls were the ones that tied him up and sprayed him with alcohol to burn him alive.
