The immigrants were traveling in a refrigerated truck, and one of them asked the authorities for help because they were starting to show symptoms of hypothermia.

When authorities found the car, one of the doors had already been opened to let the air flow, and when the undocumented migrants noticed the presence of the police, they scattered, some moving into the nearby wooded area.

Authorities claim that some of the escaped people only wore jeans and T-shirts, claiming their health was in danger from the cold snap that hit that area.

It is also possible that several people have fled to nearby homes or businesses.

Vehicles parked around the trailer are suspected of being used by “coyotes” accompanying the Central Americans.
