Typical Miss Universe Israel costume creates controversy

A few weeks before it is known who will be crowned Miss Universe 2020, details of the candidates will be revealed bit by bit. And something that always draws attention is the quintessential costume.

Among those causing controversy is that of the Israeli candidate, Tehila Levy, who will wear a dress made with 300 masks, which are used as a protective measure against COVID-19.

“This is Israel’s national dress that beauty queen Tehila Levy will wear to represent us at the Miss Universe pageant! The dress was designed by Shai Shalom from more than three hundred (read them right, 300 !!) hand-painted masks. So what do you think of the dress? It was revealed on the candidate’s Instagram page.

Immediately, the comments penetrated social networks, with many criticizing the design negatively, pointing out that more than a country’s representative dress is a costume.

In Puerto Rico we will know tomorrow what the typical costume will be worn by the Puerto Rican queen, Estefanía Soto, who will represent us in the contest whose final will be on May 16 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida . .
